100. Griffin JOHNSON was born on 11 Aug 1778 in , Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. He died on 19 Jul 1861 in , Perry, Illinois.

Perry County, Illinois 1860 U.S. Census. Transcribed by Lee & Naomi Schick. Page 167. #1422. Age 85, Retired, Shows born in Ohio. Living with James and Sarah Johnson.

It is believed that Disbury and Nancy Johnson moved with his father and mother (Griffin and Sarah Johnson) and a number of brothers and sisters from Ohio in 1842, (but see Abner born in Missouri in 1841) through Illinois, where Griffin and Sarah Johnson with most of the brothers and sisters settled in Perry County.

Moved to Ohio with his folks in 1785. He does not seem to have speculated much in land for his name does not appear in the records until 1840 when he sold to Samuel Logan.(Harrison Cty Deeds, Book C) Being the youngest son it is more than likely that he was kept busy farming his father's land as long as he lived. The fact that Griffin and so many members of his family attended the sale of the effects of James Johnson Sr, in 1739 makes it quite certain that up to that time he lived in Washington Township, Harrison County. It is possible that after that date he moved out of region. In the War of 1812 he served the government as a teamster and was paid at least $25.00 for his services. No will or administration papers about his property have been found. (Report titled 'The Children of James Johnson')

He was married to Sarah WRIGHT on 20 Oct 1798.

101. Sarah WRIGHT was born in 1780 in , , Pennsylvania. She died in 1859 in , Perry, Illinois.
