Dash Point State Park on the South Sound is a nice day outing. The timing for this visit was perfect to enjoy the beach at low tide. This view shows Vashon Island in the distance. The beach area is divided by a stream.
Beach combing and dog walking seem to be two popular activities. The snow capped Olympic Mountain Range is seen in the distance.
The drive back along Marine View Drive provides a great view of Commencement Bay and Mt. Rainier.
The river is running higher on the 20th. Guess the annual snowmelt is underway. What is that object in the water?
It appears to be a stump brought downstream and pausing for a while.
Meanwhile a few geese have stopped over for rest and relaxation a ways upstream.
As can be found everywhere this time of year, the wildflowers are in great profusion along the trail.
